Stretchable Sinter Free Printed Electronics for Seamless User Interfaces
Hyundai collaborates with UINCS to develop a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) experience.
UINCS integrates ultrathin sensoring, lighting, and printed circuit solutions in incredible, complex, and stretchable shapes using a wide range of materials. UINCS’s technology transforms products with ultra stretchable sinter free room temperature printed electronics.
Challenge
The overarching goal was to create a new HMI experience in the vehicle through UINCS’ highly stretchable printed electronics technology.
Solution
Hyundai worked with UINCS’s advanced design team to renovate the vehicle’s center console and the seat area by applying new control ways with UINCS’ technology.
Outcome
As a result, Hyundai and UINCS worked on a seat/console and allowed people to test the new controllers. With Hyundai’s regional R&D Center (HMETC), the teams tested out the functionality and reliability of the technology. Through the PoC project, UINCS was able to ideate and learn about the future HMI, which allows them to better prepare and suggest in-cabin experience to customers.
