Increasing Safety on the Road with Dynamic Lighting
OPmobility and Sonatus present a novel no-code way to update and adapt lighting functions over the lifetime of the vehicle.

Challenge
By combining their products and technologies, OPmobility and Sonatus are increasing safety on the road. Their jointly developed software-defined lighting solution reduces the risks of car collision.
Solution
In their project, OPmobility and Sonatus present the latest developments based on a digitally addressable signal lighting setup. This includes orchestrating new vehicle lighting features and diagnostic routines; instant prototyping of new features to accelerate product cycles, and reduction of development and validation costs. The work also contains an illustration of the latest generation of OLED signal lighting with a comparison to traditional digitally addressable technologies such as MiniLED.
Outcome
Coupled with advancements in digitally addressable lighting technology, adding software configurability significantly improves driving safety, user experience, and styling. OPmobility and Sonatus are bringing this new solution to the market for production cars.
